Bihar Judiciary Syllabus

 

Bihar Judiciary Syllabus Prelims


There are two sections to the Bihar Judiciary Preliminary Exam. The first exam is a multiple-choice test (MCQ) covering general knowledge and general studies. Paper 2 will consist of multiple-choice questions on legal topics and will be worth 150 total marks. The Bihar PCS J Exam will last for  210 minutes. Bihar Judiciary Syllabus 2024 for Prelims consists of two papers:

Exam 1: General Knowledge – General Knowledge including Current Affairs and Elementary General Science

Exam 2: Law

  • Law of Evidence & Procedure.
  • Constitutional and Administrative Law of India.
  • Hindu Law & Muhammadan Law.
  • Law of Transfer of Property, Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts, and Specific Relief Act.
  • Law of Contracts & Torts.
  • Commercial Law.
    General knowledge is conducted for 100 marks, and law paper is conducted for 150 marks.

To be selected for the Bihar Judiciary 2024 Mains exam, you must score 45% marks (general category) and 40% (reserved category) in the prelims exam.

 

Bihar Judiciary Syllabus 2024 Mains

 

The Bihar Judiciary Syllabus 2024 has two sections: the compulsory and optional papers. All students must take both the English and Hindi language requirements. The minimum passing score for each paper is 33 out of a total of 100 marks. These marks will count toward the final marks and be used to determine selection. The candidate needs to take 3 of the 5 available options. There are five compulsory papers in  Bihar Judiciary Syllabus 2024 for Mains, of which Hindi & English are of a qualifying nature.

General Knowledge / General Studies including Current Affairs – 150 marks
Elementary General Science – 100 marks
General Hindi – 100 marks
General English – 100 marks
Law of Evidence and Procedure – 150 marks
There will be a choice of five optional papers in Bihar Judiciary Syllabus 2024, from which, candidates have to select three:

Constitutional and Administrative Law of India– 150 marks
Hindu law and Mohammedan law – 150 marks
Transfer of Property Act, Principles of Equity, Law of Trusts, and Specific Relief Act –
150 marks
Law of Contract and Torts – 150 marks
Commercial Law – 150 marks.

General HindiThe level of difficulty of this paper will be the same as that of the Hindi section of the secondary examination administered by the Bihar School Examination Committee. This section is designed for students who have been studying Hindi continuously since the fourth grade.
General English
  • Spotting Errors in sentences and phrases
  • Antonyms and Synonyms
  • Fill in the blanks with missing words
  • Usage of prepositions, idioms, and phrases
  • Word analogies
  • Test of spellings
  • Re-arranging sentences
  • Questions to test comprehension – with a passage to be read and questions based on the same.
  • Questions will be set to test the understanding of and the power to write English. A passage or passages will usually be set for summary or precis.
  • Questions will include letter writing on a given subject
